Darcelle aka Saibah is a native of Plainfield NJ and has been in the business of fashion and beauty since the age of 14. She presently is the owner-operator of Hair Looks, in Fayetteville NC. https://hairlookssalon.com/
Darcelle attended Johnson C Smith University, Charlotte, NC for 3 years, and later received her B.S in Mass Communications with a focus on journalism and public relations at the University of North Carolina in Pembroke NC. Between JCSU and UNCP she worked on Wall St as an international banker, for several years and later left the banking industry to pursue a career in the field of cosmetology. While attending Wilfred Academy, Newark NJ were she received her cosmetology license, she also worked as a successful counter manager for several cosmetic companies.
Darcelle owned and operated Afri-Khair a two-chair salon with one trainee that grew to a 7 chair successful salon, in East Orange NJ, and Hair Looks, in Fayetteville NC. She also held salon management positions with Great Clips, Fantastic Sams, and Rich’s department stores. She worked as a stylist in Charlotte NC, NYC and Mobile AL. Afri-Khair was a training ground for young stylists who grew to be successful and diverse in their talent.
Saibah, was a member of the North Carolina State Beauticians and Cosmetologists Association Inc., https://www.myncsbca.org/were she served on the education and trade show committees. She received her Masters in cosmetology through the NBCL, National Beauty Cultures League, https://www.nbcl.info/about-us.html the oldest black cosmetology association. She has also worked as a platform artist, workshop coordinator, event planner and color educator for Keune Hair Cosmetics. Her workshops include; customer experience, retailing, and marketing.
Saibah has produced, promoted, and hosted a hair competition, trade, and fashion show using print and radio advertising. Saibah has a passion for service, fashion, food, and fun.
